IMPORTANT:   Rule Change

There has been a change in the Board’s rules since the PTA Supervision Video was made.  When watching the video, please make a note of the updated rule below and be aware that the previous rule is no longer accurate.
Change to Board rule effective Feb 1, 2015 21 NCAC 48C.0102 Responsibilities
Old Rule (No longer correct) (j) If a physical therapist assistant or physical therapy aide is involved in the patient care plan, the patient must be reassessed by the supervising physical therapist no less frequently than every 30 days.
New updated rule (Now in effect) (k)  If a physical therapist assistant or physical therapy aide is involved in the patient care plan, a physical therapist shall reassess a patient every 60 days or 13 visits, whichever occurs first.
